As of June 2011, Moody's Analytics Data Buffet offers an expanded subnational Germany database, sourced from the Federal Statistics Office (FSO) and the Statistical Office of Baden-Württemberg.  Economic sectors include income, industry, demographics, labor and wages, national accounts and real estate. Coverage varies, but certain data available as often as monthly, with geographic granularity to the Kreis (NUTS 3) level.

Note: This group of subnational datasets does not include any German regions (NUTS 2).  Some German areas qualify as both states and regions, e.g. Bremen (IDEU_BREM).  In the past decade there have been numerous changes in the set of districts, with many splits and consolidations.
