As of June 2011, Moody's Analytics Data Buffet offers an expanded subnational Spain database, sourced from the Spanish National Institute of Statistics (INE). Economic sectors include consumer, credit quality, demographics, labor and wages, national accounts, prices and real estate. Coverage varies, but certain data available as often as monthly, with geographic granularity to the provinces level.

Table 1 summarizes the new coverage, and Table 2 explains the abbreviations for each geographic level. Table 1. Summary of economic indicators.  Series frequencies are annual, quarterly or monthly (A, Q, M).  Geographic levels are described in Table 2.

Geographic levels in our subnational data, structure per the National Geographical Institute (IGN) of Spain vis-a-vis the Eurostat NUTS geographic classification.  The geography code patterns will help you create wild card basket retrievals; for example, to fetch total population for all 20 NUTS 2 areas, use VSQPOPTA.IESP_^^.  (The table shows "a" to indicate that all such codes use letters, not digits; but the wild card character is "^", the caret.)
