Motivation: In May, our source (the National Bureau of Statistics), for its dataset of house price indexes for 70 cities, extended the history back to 2005, with a base year break at 2015/2016 (see related article).
Response: Other than as described below, properties of our estimates are unchanged (see related article).
- Revision to all existing periods, i.e., provinces from 2006Q1 and nation from 1995Q1.
- Extension from 2010Q1 to 2006Q1 for all provinces.
- We compensate for the break by imposing a consistent base year.
The estimates reside in the historical catalog (China » Real Estate » Residential » House Price Index » Moody's Analytics Estimated)) and include, for example:
- RHPIQ.ICHN = House price index, (Index 2010=100, SA) - for the nation
- RHPIQ.ICHN_BE = House price index, (Index 2010=100, SA) - for Beijing
- RHPIQ.ICHN_XI = House price index, (Vol. Index 2010=100, SA) - for Xinjiang
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
