Geo Change: OECD - Israel Now 33rd Member
Tuesday, 28 Sep 2010 16:27 ET
By Jean-Marc Rollet
Summary
September 2010 -- Israel has become the 33rd member of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This affects the meaning of geo code IOCTT.
Detail

Israel became the 33rd OECD member country on September 7, 2010; it is the second country in the Middle East, after Turkey.  Slovenia was the 32nd member, as of July 21, and Chile was the 31st, as of May 7.  For more information on OECD member countries, accession and enhanced engagement, please visit the organization's web site at: www.oecd.org.

Israel's membership affects the composition of the following Data Buffet geo codes.  Time series using, for example, the "OECD Total" aggregate geo code (IOCTT) may or may not be comparable over time.  In most instances the OECD will recalculate the history of regional aggregates to include new member countries, but this is not guaranteed.
