The Moody's Analytics "probability of recession within six months" series cannot be downloaded through Data Buffet. Instead, go to the Regional Financial Review, historical tables, "Leading Indicators" section. If you lack access to this written product, please contact your Moody's Analytics sales representative.
Computed by Moody's Analytics, the probability of recession (a.k.a. risk of recession) is a monthly indicator starting as early as August 1989. It is available for the U.S., census regions, 52 states (including Washington, D.C.), all metro areas and all metro divisions.
