As of June 2012, Moody's Analytics Data Buffet offers an expanded national database, sourced from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). It is part of two products, the Moody's Analytics Global Database and Europe Database. Please contact your sales representative for details.

Our initial economic sector coverage includes demographics, employment, GDP, national accounts wages, and residential real estate. Coverage by time and space varies, but certain data are available as often as quarterly, with geographic granularity to the level of prefectures (now regional units).  Table 1 summarizes the new coverage, and table 2 introduces the geographic structure. The Hellenic Republic (Elliniki Dhimokratia) is a member of the European Union (1981) and the euro zone (2002); its previous native currency was the drachma (ISO 4217 GRD). It uses the Eurostat ESA95 standard for national accounts. Its economic activities classification is STAKOD, a localization of NACE Rev. 2 (previous versions were STAKOD-80, STAKOD-91, and STAKOD-03 or -2003, derived from ISIC Rev. 2, Rev. 3 (NACE Rev. 1), and Rev. 3.1 (NACE Rev. 1.1), respectively). For geographies, its latest (2011) change to administrative regions has broken sync with NUTS 2010. The official language is Greek and the time zone is UTC+2. The Data Buffet geo code is .IGRC.

The geography code patterns will help you create wild card basket retrievals; for example, to fetch total population for all five NUTS 2 areas, use VSQPOPUA.IGRC_^^. (There is one single-character basket wild card, the caret, but table shows "a" to denote use of letters in the geo codes use letters, not digits.)

Please note that, as of 2011, Greece has reorganized its administrative divisions used for subnational statistical reporting (see related article), and they are no longer in sync with the NUTS 2010 standard.  At this time, most of the subnational datasets still use the old system.
