United States: FHFA Purchase-Only House Price Index

House prices, as measured by the FHFA, continue to increase at a fast clip. The U.S. FHFA Purchase-Only House Price Index increased 0.6% in February and is up by 6.9% from February 2013. However, the monthly increase was more uneven regionally, as the indexes for Northeast declined, while the West Coast continues to lead. Though the two Northeast census divisions are lagging, all regions have posted year-over-year growth.
