Description

For the Netherlands, the statistics on building permits granted provide information on the number of houses to be built in the near future. The statistics on dwellings provide information on the number of houses constructed. The statistics on the dwelling stock provide information on the dwelling stock by type of dwelling.

The statistics on building permits granted provide information on the number of houses to be built in the near future. Data is for the number of new living spaces for which a building permit was granted. The index is for the number of dwellings granted a building permit.

The results refer to granted buildling permits whose construction sum starts at 50 thousand euros, excluding VAT.

<strong>Definitions<br /></strong>

Monthly

Living space - A (part of a) residence object with a residential function and / or a guest function in the granted building permit. The following types are distinguished: home, housing unit and recreation home.

Houses - A dwelling is the smallest one located within one or more premises and is intended for residential purposes (purpose of use is residential function), which is accessed via a private entrance from the public road, an estate or a shared traffic area.

Annual

Dwellings - Includes figures on changes in the dwelling stock, the number of newly constructed houses by building permits issued and the houses built from 1988 and houses still to be finished from 1991.

Dwellings building permits issued - The number of dwellings of which a building permit is issued by type of ownership and principal.

Total building permit issued - Total number of dwellings of which a building permit is issued.

Government and housing corporations - Total number of dwellings building permits issued by order of government and housing corporations.

Commercial builders - Total number of dwellings building permits issued by order of commercial builders.

Other private principals - Total number of dwellings building permits issued by order of other private principals.

Rented dwellings - Total number of rented dwellings building permits issued.

Owner-occupied dwellings - Total number of owner-occupied dwellings building permits issued.
