Over the past three years, the Argentine national statistical agency (INDEC) has made numerous incremental changes to its consumer price reporting to regain confidence in the validity of the numbers. In the latest change, it has resumed reporting of a dataset that (a) describes the country, (b) is expressed as an index, and (c) is detailed by COICOP.

In response, we have:

1. Discontinued our four estimated stopgap series (1943 to 2018).
2. Renamed discontinued series to make room.
3. Created 19 new as-reported series.
4. Extended the history of the as-reported all-items indexes.
5. Created seasonally adjusted (SA) supplements to the extended all-items indexes.
6. Refurbished the catalog to clearly separate the eight variants of this dataset.

Step 1 - The discontinued estimates reside in the historical catalog (Argentina » Price » Consumer price index » Discontinued » 1943 to 2018, Moody's Analytics Estimated) and are:

• CPIGDSUM.IARG     = Memo - Goods

Step 5 - Seasonally adjusted supplements include:

• CPITTAM.IARG_GBA  = General index, (Index Dec2016=100, SA) - for Greater Buenos Aires
