Friday, 03 Mar 2017 14:11 ET
By Rosemary Affatato
Summary
February 2017 -- Series within the race and ethnicity categories were being reported as percent share of race and ethnicity. Now, we report insured unemployment by race as a percent share of Average Weekly Total Weeks Claim for all races and insured unemployment by ethnicity as a percent share of Average Weekly Total Weeks Claim for all ethnicities.
Detail

In response, series representing ethnicity have been renamed, series representing race have unchanged mnemonics but metadata data has been updated.

Series reside in the historical catalog (United States » Labor markets » Insured Unemployment Characteristics » by ethnicity|race) and include, for example, the following (old » new) :

  • XUIRH%M.IUSA » XUIEH%M.IUSA =Insured unemployment by ethnicity: Hispanic or Latino, (%, NSA) for the U.S.
  • XUIRNHM.CA » XUIENHM.CA = by ethnicity: Non-Hispanic or Latino for California
  • XUIREINM.SC » XUIEINAM.SC = by ethnicity: Information not available for South Carolina
  • XUIRW%M.AZ = Insured unemployment by race: White for Arizona

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
