Motivation: Our national source for Singapore (Department of Statistics, or DoS) reports quarterly gross value added by industry at current prices, but only in not seasonally adjusted (NSA) terms. (The parallel constant-price subset is reported in both NSA and SA terms.)
Response: For analytical consistency, we have created seasonally adjusted counterparts for the hierarchy from individual industries to GVA and GDP.
Properties: The classification is SSIC 2010, adapted from UN ISIC Rev. 4. Figures are millions of Singapore dollars (Mil. SGD), seasonally adjusted (SA). Expect our SA series to be revised with each update. Supplemental series of this kind are marked in their source metadata with a secondary citation of "Moody's Analytics Adjusted", while aggregated series are marked "Moody's Analytics Calculated".
The series reside in the historical catalog (Singapore » National Accounts » By value add » Quarterly » Current prices) and include, for example, the following. The components of the four aggregates are listed in the attachment and depicted in the catalog.
- NALGVABPAQ.ISGP = National Accounts: Gross value added at basic prices, (Mil. SGD, SA)
- NALGPAQ.ISGP = Goods-producing industries
- NALMFAQ.ISGP = Construction
- NALAFAAQ.ISGP = Accommodation and food services
Method
- Adjust 13 individual components (industries, taxes on products) using the U.S. Census Bureau's X-13 ARIMA program.
- Aggregate components to the four subtotals and totals.
