The CGPI is a kind of producer price index. It is reported by the People's Bank of China (PBC), and Data Buffet already carries the detailed PPI separately reported by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Reported dataset properties:

• Measurement: Moving-base index relative to the previous year (Index prv. yr.=100)
• Adjustment: Not seasonally adjusted (NSA)
• Native frequency: Monthly
• Start date: 2001m1

For completeness, we also carry two defunct series:

• Total, expressed as month-over-month percent change, 2002m8 to 2009m8
• "Processed products", expressed as a moving-base index (CPPY), 2001m1 to 2009m8

For analytic convenience, Moody's Analytics translates the "total" measure to a fixed-base index (2005=100), and from that, a seasonally adjusted version.
