There are three changes to our extract:
- France's most recent geo redefinition combined 16 of the "administrative regions" into seven, resulting in 18 areas total (see related article). These changes will be reflected in the Eurostat NUTS 2016 standard, at the NUTS 2 level.
- The source previously reported the islands of Réunion and Mayotte as a composite area (geo code IFRA_RM). They are now reported separately.
- We have added five series for the remaining reported geos, namely, the overseas departments.
In response, we have archived the predecessor areas by marking their metadata as "discontinued". Figures are nominal euros (EUR), millions thereof (Mil. EUR) or chained year-2010 euros (Mil. Ch. 2010 EUR). The series run from 1990 to 2013. The replacements have an unchanged start date.
All series reside in the historical catalog (France » National Accounts » by Value Add » Annual » Gross domestic product - totals). The replacements include, for example:
- NALSGDP%EUA.IFRA_AL = [DISCONTINUED] National accounts: Production approach - Gross domestic product - Per employed, (EUR) - for NUTS 2 (2013) Alsace
- NALSGDP%EUA.IFRA_AQ = [DISCONTINUED] for NUTS 2 (2013) Aquitaine
- NALSGDP%EUA.IFRA_AC = for NUTS 2 (2016) Grand Est
- NALSGDP%EUA.IFRA_LP = for NUTS 2 (2016) Occitanie
The five new series are:
- NACSGDPUA.IFRA_GL = National accounts: Production approach - Gross domestic product, (Mil. Ch. 2010 EUR) - for NUTS 2 Guadeloupe
- NACSGDPUA.IFRA_MQ = for NUTS 2 Martinique
- NACSGDPUA.IFRA_FG = for NUTS 2 Guyane
- NACSGDPUA.IFRA_RE = for NUTS 2 La Reunion
- NACSGDPUA.IFRA_MY = for NUTS 2 Mayotte
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Please be aware that:
- National-level data is reported in two ways: (1) with the five overseas departments or (2) excluding the overseas departments ("France Métropolitaine") (see related article).
