Situation: The as-reported monthly series are expressed in cumulative (year-to-date, YTD) analytic form.

Motivation for change:

• To conform to Moody's Analytics standards for mnemonics, intended to facilitate cross-country retrieval.
• To make room for corresponding non-YTD supplements (forthcoming).

Response: We have renamed 34 existing monthly series according to the following rule. We have not renamed the series in the parallel quarterly presentation.

• Insert "Y" prior to "UM."

The series reside in the historical catalog (Slovak Republic » Trade » Balance of Payments » BPM6 » Monthly) and include, for example (old » new):

• BPLCABUM.ISVK  » BPLCABYUM.ISVK  = Balance: Current account
• BPLICSCUM.ISVK » BPLICSCYUM.ISVK = Credit: Current account - Secondary income
• BPLFADUM.ISVK  » BPLFADYUM.ISVK  = Debit: Financial account

Impact: If you have a legacy basket or other retrievals, existing references will (for now) return "series not found" errors and (later) return our non-YTD supplements. You will need to edit the basket to use the amended mnemonics; the basket editor includes a "find and replace" tool. We recommend that all retrievals include the "description" metadata header and that you monitor the unit-descriptor for changes.
