Motivation: Detailed GVA is reported by both Eurostat and the Central Statistics Office of Ireland (CSO). Our preference is to benchmark our estimates to a national source, and we have recently obtained quarterly GVA data from CSO.
Response: We adapted our methodology to the preferable dataset.
- Before: Benchmark to quarterly GVA reported by Eurostat.
- After: Benchmark to quarterly GVA reported by CSO.
What you will see: Revised over the interval 1995 to 2019, in euro and dollar terms, at current and constant prices. Constant-price euro series are now referenced to 2017 instead of 2016 to match CSO.
Properties
- Measurements:
- Millions of euros at current prices (Mil. EUR) or chained year-2017 prices (Mil. Ch. 2017 EUR)
- Millions of U.S. dollars at current prices (Mil. USD) or chained year-2009 prices (Mil. Ch. 2009 USD)
- Adjustment: Seasonally adjusted at an annual rate (SAAR)
- Geo coverage: Country
- Native frequency: Quarterly
- Start date: 1995Q1
The estimates reside in the historical catalog (Ireland » National Accounts » by Value Add » Moody's Analytics Estimated) and include, for example:
- RGDPQ.IIRL = GVA - Total (all-industries), (Mil. EUR, SAAR)
- RGDPTER$Q.IIRL = GVA for tertiary industries [G-T], (Mil. Ch. 2017 EUR, SAAR)
- RGDPEDUSD$Q.IIRL = GVA for education [P], (Mil. Ch. 2009 USD, SAAR)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
