Motivation: In the most recent update (mid-March) of the United Nations Statistics Division National Accounts Main Aggregates Database, GDP(E) at constant year-2005 prices was replaced by year-2010 prices. Time series were updated from 2006.
Response: In our estimates of GDP (expenditure approach) for Ghana, Moody's Analytics has not changed our currency reference year (2006). In our process, three of the ten GDP(E) concepts are backfilled with UNSD data; it is these, specifically, that are impacted by the UNSD re-referencing.
Properties: Series properties are otherwise unchanged (see related article). The series reside in the historical catalog (Ghana » National Accounts » By Expenditure » Moody's Analysts Estimated) and are:
- RNACECGAQ.IGHA = National Accounts: Government consumption, (Mil. 2006 GHS, SAAR)
- RNACEGCFAQ.IGHA = Gross capital formation
- RNACEGFCFAQ.IGHA = Gross fixed capital formation
- RPDIGAQ.IGHA = Implicit price deflator - Government consumption, (Index 2006=100, SA)
- RPDIIAQ.IGHA = Implicit price deflator - Gross capital formation
- RPDIIFAQ.IGHA = Implicit price deflator - Gross fixed capital formation
