Motivation: Our pertinent national source, the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics of the Republic of China (DGBAS), reports employment and unemployment:
- For the country, at a monthly frequency, but with missing values in 1991 and 1994.
- For Taipei, but at an annual frequency, and with limited history (starting 2017).
Response: For international consistency, we have estimated the labor force status quartet (labor force, employment, unemployment, and unemployment rate) for Taiwan and its capital, at a quarterly frequency, with full and extended history.
