In response, we have:
- Archived the predecessors (2011=100, January 1982 to February 2018) by renaming with an "_11" specifier, by marking the description metadata as "discontinued", and by segregating in the catalog.
- Created replacements (2016=100) have an unchanged start date.
- Added the reported branches under B, D and E.
- Discontinued our extract of the "year-over-year percent change" corresponding subset.
- Assigned standardized mnemonics to the replacements.
Dataset properties:
- Classification: ISIC Rev. 4
- Adjustment: Not seasonally adjusted (NSA), seasonally adjusted (SA) for total only
- Start date: January 1982 (unchanged)
The active series reside in the historical catalog (Taiwan » Industry » 2016=100 » Industrial production index) and the predecessors under the associated discontinued node. They include, for example:
- IPITT_11UM.ITWN = [DISCONTINUED] Industrial production index: All industries, (Index 2011=100, NSA)
- IPITTUM.ITWN = Industry [Z], (Index 2016=100, NSA)
- IPIMNUM.ITWN = Mining [B1], (Index 2016=100, NSA)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
About the dataset
This survey reports 27 individual divisions under manufacture and four country-specific industry clusters: metal and machinery industry; information and electronic industry; chemistry industry; and food, textile, other industry.
Please be aware that
By definition, industrial production indexes are volume indexes, i.e., they are adjusted to eliminate the effect of price changes.
