In response, we have:
- Archived all remaining active series by marking individual metadata as "discontinued".
- Segregated the catalog pages into "discontinued" folders.
As a partial substitute, Data Buffet carries:
- Freddie Mac "Primary Mortgage Market Survey"
- MBA "Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey"
The "“National Average Contract Mortgage Rate for the Purchase of Previously Occupied Homes by Combined Lenders", a.k.a. NACMIR, a.k.a. "the ARM Index", resides in the historical catalog (United States » Financial » Interest rates » Mortgage rates » FHFA National Contract Mortgage Rate):
- IRNACIM.IUSA = National average contract mortgage rate for the purchase of previously occupied homes by combined lenders, (% p.a., NSA)
The NACMIR has been replaced by a new interest rate called the "PMMS+". [Updated 18 September.]
The detailed series reside in the historical catalog (Financial » Discontinued » Monthly Interest Rate Survey) and (Real estate » Residential » Monthly Interest Rate Survey) and include, for example:
- IRFHFBCCM.IUSA = Composite [new and existing homes] - Contract interest rate, (% p.a., NSA)
- LTV70CNM.IUSA = New homes - Percent of loans with LTV 70-80%, (%, NSA)
- TERCXM.IUSA = Existing homes - Term to maturity, (Years, NSA)
- HFEEFM.IUSA = Composite - FRM - Initial fees and charges, (%, NSA)
- HFEEF15M.IUSA = Composite - FRM 15-year - Initial fees and charges
- TERMQ.CSMIN = Term to maturity, (Years, NSA) - for Minneapolis-St. Paul-St. Cloud, MN-WI
- LTV80Q.MSAZ = Percent of loans with LTV 80-90%, (%, NSA) - for San Antonio, TX [2000 delineation]
- IRFHFBECA.BOS = Composite - Effective interest rate, (% p.a., NSA) - for Boston MSA [1990 delineation]
- PPRICE.KS = Purchase price, (Ths. USD) - for Kansas
Please be aware that
Our estimate RXNADJUSTM.IUSA replaces NADJUSTM.IUSA (terminated in 2008) and is extended using the MBA WAS. Hence, it remains active.
