Data Change: Ireland - GVA by industry (A) - Re-referenced to 2017
Friday, 17 Jan 2020 15:35 ET
By Patrick Smith
Summary
January 2020 -- For the annual national accounts for Ireland, concurrent with dissemination of results for 2018, the source has advanced the currency reference year from 2016 to 2017 (84 annual series 1995 to 2017, replaced). This is a routine annual process.
Detail

In response, we have:

  1. Archived the predecessors (currency reference year 2016, 1995 to 2017) by renaming with an "_16" specifier, by marking the metadata as "discontinued", and by segregating in the catalog.
  2. Archived the corresponding current-price series, which may be subject to other revisions at this juncture.
  3. Created replacements (ref 2017).

Notable properties:

  • Measurement: Millions of chained year-2017 euros (Mil. Ch. 2017 EUR)
  • Start date: Unchanged

The active series reside in the historical catalog:

  • Ireland » National Accounts » by Value Add » Annual » Detailed industry
  • Ireland » National Accounts » by Value Add » Discontinued » 2016 prices

and include:

  • NACSGVAT_16UA.IIRL = [DISCONTINUED] Gross value added at basic prices - All industries total [A to U], (Mil. Ch. 2016 EUR, NSA)
  • NACSGVATUA.IIRL    = Gross value added at basic prices - All industries total [A to U], (Mil. Ch. 2017 EUR, NSA)
  • NACSGVAAFUA.IIRL   = Gross value added - Agriculture; forestry and fishing [A]
  • NACSGVAMFHUA.IIRL  = Gross value added - Basic metals and fabricated metal products [24 to 25]
