As of June 2012, Moody's Analytics Data Buffet offers new subnational Norway data, from our national source, Statistics Norway (a.k.a. Statistisk sentralbyrå, SSB). Economic sectors include credit quality, demographics, employment and wages, income, and residential real estate.  Coverage varies; certain data are available as often as monthly with geographic granularity to the municipality level.  For full detail, please see related articles in Data Buffet News or attached to time series via Mnemonic 411.

Table 1. Summary of economic indicators. Series frequencies are annual, quarterly, or monthly (A, Q, M). Geographic levels are described in Table 2.  For completeness, the table shows the regional geo level (RG) (no data) and the national level (NL) (which has data for eight of the indicators).

Table 2. Geographic levels in our subnational dataset.  The geography code patterns will help you create wild card basket retrievals. For example, to retrieve population for all Norway municipalities, use VSQPOPUQ.INOR_^^^^. (Table 2 shows "a" and "n" for letters and digits, respectively, but the sole single-character wild card is the caret.)

Note 1: For statistical purposes, Svalsbard and the continental shelf are considered additional counties beyond the legally-defined 19.

Note 2: The set of municipalities is subject to annual official change.  There have been 486 such areas since 1977, 438 since 2002, and 431 in 2012.  Consequently, depending on their start date, indicator-sets will have different geo coverage.
