Geo Change: Finland subnational - NUTS 2016
Monday, 14 Jan 2019 12:42 ET
By Elizabeth Fitts
Summary
For Finland, there is a difference between geographic classifications NUTS 2013 and NUTS 2016. There are two changes, both at the NUTS 3 geo level, with consequences for Data Buffet releases.
Detail

Motivation

Because of a boundary shift between adjacent areas at the NUTS 3 geo level, there is a change between the NUTS 2013 and NUTS 2016 standards; to wit, two areas have been issued new NUTS codes. Their names are unchanged.

In Finland, place names are conventionally given in two languages, Finnish and Swedish.

Our response

  1. Created two new geo codes.
  2. As each release is modified by the source, replaced time series.
