New Data: Norway - HPI for new dwellings
Monday, 20 Mar 2017 17:54 ET
By Rosemary Affatato
December 2016 -- Data Buffet now carries the house price indexes for "new dwellings" and "new multi-dwellings" in Norway (two new quarterly series from 2011).

The reported figures are based to 2015 (Index 2015=100) and are not seasonally adjusted (NSA). They start at 2011Q1.

The series reside in the historical catalog (Norway » Real Estate » Residential » Prices » Price index » 2015=100) and are:

  • HPINTOTUQ.INOR = House price index: New - Total, (Index 2015=100, NSA)
  • HPINAPTUQ.INOR = Multi-dwelling

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.

Please be aware that:

  • To supplement the reported NSA data, Moody's Analytics has created seasonally adjusted (SA) counterparts, which reside on the same page.
  • This additional HPI subset is distinct from the parallel subset with scope of "new and existing dwellings" that has an index base of 2005 and starts at 1992Q1, and which resides under an adjacent node.
