The source wrote (citation):
Starting with January 2018, base period of retail trade index has been changed from 2010 to 2015.
In response, we have:
- Archived the predecessors (2010=100, January 2000 to December 2017), by renaming with an "_10" specifier, by marking metadata as discontinued, and by segregating in the catalog.
- Created replacements (2015=100) with an unchanged start date. There are four analytic variants: value and volume indexes, and seasonally adjusted (SA) or not (NSA). The statistical classification is NACE Rev. 2, and production and services classification is according to kind of activity (CPA 2008).
- Assigned standardized mnemonics:
- Denoted value and volume indexes with "I/J" instead of "IL/IC" or "ITA/ITO".
- Harmonized the segment denoting the type of product, using either the NACE numeric code (for a single branch) or a Data Buffet alpha code (for an aggregate).
The active series reside in the historical catalog (Latvia » Consumer » Retail sales index » 2015=100) and the predecessors under the associated "discontinued" node. They include, for example:
- WRICRAHGP_10AM.ILVA = [DISCONTINUED] Hardware, paints and glass in specialized stores, (Vol. Index 2010=100, SA)
- WRJ4752AM.ILVA = Hardware, paints and glass in specialized stores, (Vol. Index 2015=100, SA)
- WRILRATT_10UM.ILVA = [DISCONTINUED] Retail turnover: Total incl. automotive fuel, (Index 2010=100, NSA)
- WRI47UM.ILVA = Retail turnover: Total incl. automotive fuel [47], (Index 2015=100, NSA)
Also in (Latvia » Consumer » Wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and motorcycles), for example:
- WRITAWRMX_10UM.ILVA = [DISCONTINUED] Wholesale and retail trade turnover: Motor vehicles and motorcycles, (Index 2010=100, NSA)
- WRI45UM.ILVA = Wholesale and retail trade turnover: Motor vehicles and motorcycles, (Index 2015=100, NSA)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Please be aware that
Seven branches (14 series) have been terminated outright by the source, with no replacements. They end at December 2015, and we previously marked them as discontinued, but did not rename them with the "_10" specifier until now.
