Motivation: Our national source, National Bank of Slovakia (NBS), reports balance of payments (including current account balance) only in cumulative (year-to-date, YTD) and not seasonally adjusted (NSA) form.
Response: For analytical convenience, we have created non-cumulative (single-period) counterparts, in not seasonally adjusted (NSA) and seasonally adjusted annualized rate (SAAR) forms. We have deleted the prior seasonally adjusted supplement, which was YTD.
Properties: The series start at January 2008 and figures are millions of euro (Mil. EUR). Expect our calculated NSA and SAAR series to be revised with each update. Supplemental series of this kind are identified by a secondary source citation of "Moody's Analytics Calculated".
The series reside in the historical catalog (Slovak Republic » Trade » Balance of Payments » BPM6 » Monthly » Balance) and are:
- BPLCABUM.ISVK = Balance of payments: Current account [1] - Balance, (Mil. EUR, NSA)
- BPLCABAM.ISVK = Current account [1] - Balance, (Mil. EUR, SAAR)

Method
- Decompose reported cumulative series (BPLCABYUM.ISVK) to non-cumulative.
- Seasonally adjust using the U.S. Census Bureau's X-13-ARIMA program.
