Data Change: Singapore - Real GDP(E) - Re-referenced
Thursday, 19 Jun 2014 03:27 ET
By Arjun Singh
Summary
June 2014 -- The source has advanced the constant-price national accounts currency reference year to 2010 (81 quarterly series 1975-2013, replaced).
Detail

For the national accounts expenditure presentation ("GDP(E)"), constant-value series, the source has advanced the currency reference year to 2010 from 2005, i.e., active figures are in millions of year-2010 Singapore Dollars (Mil. 2010 SGD). There is no change in the activity classification, SSIC 2010.

In response, we have archived the predecessors (reference year 2005, 1975Q1-2013Q4) by renaming with a "_05" specifier and marking as "discontinued."  The one-for-one replacements (reference year 2010) have an unchanged start period.

The dataset includes 71 reported series and 10 supplemental series (seasonally adjusted annual rate) by Moody's Analytics.

The GDP(E) data reside in the historical catalog (Singapore » National Accounts » National Accounts (Reference year 2010) » GDP by expenditure) and include, for example:

  • NACEEX_05UQ.ISGP = [DISCONTINUED] Exports of goods and services, (Mil. 2005 SGD, NSA)
  • NACEGFCFUQ.ISGP = Gross fixed capital formation, (Mil. 2010 SGD, NSA)
  • NACECIAQ.ISGP = Change in inventories - Moody's Analytics calculated, (Mil. 2010 SGD, SAAR)

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
