Motivation: Our national source (Rosstat) has recently redefined its annual employment dataset by reclassifying from OKVED to OKVED 2 (which align with UN ISIC Rev. 3 and Rev. 4, respectively). The number of reported industries increased from 15 to 19 (plus aggregates).
Response
- Synchronized our corpus of estimated series (from 15 to 20, plus aggregates) to match the source's categories.
- Added the Moody's special industry aggregates for office-using, warehouse-using, and retail industries.
- For unchanged mnemonics, all periods are revised, as early as 1990.
Note that, unlike a reclassification performed on a historical dataset, we have not archived the predecessor series under modified mnemonics. We have added seven mnemonics and deleted three (REHTQ.IRUS, REPAQ.IRUS, REOCQ.IRUS), and if you have legacy baskets, subsequent attempts to retrieve the latter will elicit the "series not found" message. For a full comparison of the historical and estimated datasets, see the attached concordance of concept codes.
Properties
- Industry classification: OKVED 2
- Measurement: Thousands of persons (Ths. #)
- Adjustment: Seasonally adjusted (SA)
- Geo coverage: Country
- Start date: No change -- 1990Q1 for total, 1998Q1 for industrial detail
The estimates reside in the historical catalog (Russia » Labor and Wages » Employment by Industry » Workplace-based » Moody's Analytics Estimated) and include, for example:
- RETOTQ.IRUS = Employment - All industries, (Ths. #, SA)
- RECNQ.IRUS = Construction
- RERTLQ.IRUS = Retail industries
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
