Estimates Revision: Spain - GVA - Re-referenced to 2015
Friday, 24 Jan 2020 10:12 ET
By Ferdinand Loessl
Summary
January 2020 -- For the Moody's Analytics estimates of gross value added by industry for Spain, we have advanced the currency reference year from 2010 to 2015 (112 quarterly series revised from 1995).
Detail

Motivation: For quarterly national accounts, our pertinent national source, the National Institute of Statistics (of Spain), has recently performed a five-year benchmark revision and advanced the currency reference year from 2010 to 2015. (It reports GVA at current prices and as chained volume indexes, but not at chained prices.)

Response: For our corresponding quarterly estimates, we have incorporated the revisions into our chained-EUR subset. There are also revisions to the USD-subset (at 2009 prices, our common cross-country reference year) and to the two current-price subsets.

What you will see: All periods are revised, from 1995Q1; for all concepts. The unit-descriptor metadata has changed.

The series reside in the historical catalog:

  • Spain » National Accounts » By Value Add » Moody's Analytics Estimates » Constant prices
  • Spain » National Accounts » By Value Add » Moody's Analytics Estimates » Current prices

Method: Please refer to the background documentation in Mnemonic 411.
