On 21 February, the source wrote (citation, #062):
From reference month January 2019, the index has been rebased from 2010 to base year 2015. In the process, weighting patterns have been updated and methodological changes implemented. The results for reference month January 2019 now refer to the new base year 2015. The procedure also includes a recalculation of the consumer price index for Germany from January 2015.
In response, we have:
- Archived the predecessors (base 2010, 1991m1 to 2018m12) by renaming with an "_10" specifier, marking metadata as “discontinued”, and segregating in the catalog.
- Created one-for-one replacements, which start at 2015m1.
- Extended the CDASA general index to 1991m1 using its base-2010 predecessor.
Active dataset properties:
- Classification: COICOP
- Adjustments: Not seasonally adjusted (NSA) or calendar day adjusted and seasonally adjusted (CDASA)
- Native frequency: Monthly
- Start dates:
- Reported from 2015m1
- Extended to 1991m1
The series reside in the historical catalog (Germany » Price » Consumer price index) and include, for example:
- CPITT_10UM.IDEU = [DISCONTINUED] Consumer Price index: General index, (Index 2010=100, NSA)
- CPIENG_10UM.IDEU = [DISCONTINUED] Energy, (Index 2010=100, NSA)
- CPITTUM.IDEU = General index, (Index 2015=100, NSA)
- CPIENGUM.IDEU = Household energy and fuels, (Index 2015=100, NSA)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Please be aware that
Data Buffet carries CPI datasets for Germany from two national sources: The Federal Statistics Office (FSO) and Deutsche Bundesbank (the central bank).
