Tuesday, 30 Apr 2019 18:05 ET
By Edward Chaplin
Summary
April 2019 -- Data Buffet now carries gross value added by industry for Brazil and the states thereof, expressed as chained volume indexes (1,049 new annual series from 1985).
Detail

Dataset properties:

  • Framework: UN SNA 2008
  • Industry classification: Select first-level branches and aggregates thereof over CNAE 2.0, which aligns with UN ISIC Rev. 4
  • Measurements:
    • Chained volume indexes relative to 2002 (Ch. Vol. Index 2002=100)
    • Relative to 1989
    • Relative to 1985
  • Seasonal adjustment: Not applicable
  • Geo coverage:
    • Country
    • 5 major regions
    • All 26 states (estados)
    • Federal district (distrito federal)
  • Native frequency: Annual
  • Date ranges:
    • From 2002
    • 1989 to 2004
    • 1985 to 2004

The series reside in the historical catalog (Brazil » National Accounts » by Value Add » Subnational) and include, for example:

NAKSGVAAFR1UA.IBRA = Regional accounts: Production approach - Gross value added [GVA] - Agriculture, (Ch. Vol. Index 2002=100)
NAKSGVAWWAR1UA.IBRA_TO = GVA - Electricity; gas; water; sewage; waste management; decontamination, (Ch. Vol. Index 2002=100) - for Tocantins

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
