Motivation: The National Statistics Office (NSO), our national source for Malta, reports an industrial producer price index (2010=100) but only in not seasonally adjusted (NSA) terms.

Response: For analytical consistency, we have created a seasonally adjusted (SA) counterpart.

Properties: Same as the reported data (2010=100, from January 2000), but in SA terms. Expect revisions with each update to the NSA data. Supplemental series of this kind are marked, in part, as "Moody's Analytics (ECCA) Adjusted" in their source metadata.

The series reside in the historical catalog (Malta » Price » Producer Price Indices) and are:

• PPITTAM.IMLT = Total industry, (SA)
• PPITTUM.IMLT = Total industry, (NSA)

Method: Adjust the NSA series using the U.S. Census Bureau's X-12 ARIMA program.
