Context
Eurostat publishes household net disposable income for Romania and its NUTS 1 and 2 areas with a break in coverage at 2013. One component, dividends, had a large increase because the compiling agency, Romania NSI, began recognizing dividends in the "grey economy." Under the ESA 2010 national accounts framework, "dividends (D.241) are a form of property income to which owners of shares (AF.5) become entitled as a result of, for example, placing funds at the disposal of corporations."
Revised methodology
We have amended our estimation methodology to align with the new methodology from Romania NSI, and have revised the time series prior to 2013 by using an adjustment based on another component of household income, compensation.
The estimates reside in the historical catalog (Romania » Income » Household Net Disposable Income) and include, for example:
- RYPDPIQ.IROU = in Romanian lev (national currency) - for Romania
- RYPDPIEURQ.IROU_MR1 = in euros - for NUTS 1 Macroregion 1
- RYPDPIUSDQ.IROU_BU = in U.S. dollars - for NUTS 2 Bucharest–Ilfov
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
