Figures are unitary count (#) or millions of Colombian pesos (Mil. COP), not seasonally adjusted (NSA). The series start at January 2003.
The series reside in the historical catalog (Colombia » Consumer » Motor vehicle sales) and include, for example:
- CSLNMVUM.ICOL = Motor vehicles: Sales - New - All types, (Mil. COP, NSA)
- CSQNLTUM.ICOL = Campers and trucks, (#, NSA)

About the dataset
These data originate in the Encuesta Mensual De Comercio Al Por Menor (EMCM, Monthly Retail Trade Survey), which is based on:
- Meustra mensual de comercio al por menor (MMCM, monthly retail trade sample)
- A separate reporting form, Meustra mensual de comercio de vehículos automotores y motocicletas, sus partes piezas y accesorios; comercio al por menor de combustible y lubricantes (Monthly sample of trade of automotive vehicles and motorcycles, their partes and accessories; retail trade of fuels and lubricants)
The latter form differentiates between assembly location (domestic or abroad), customer (final consumer or other company), and age (new or used); but the EMCM's scope is limited to new vehicles.
The latter form lists six categories of vehicle, as follows, but the EMCM consolidates them to four categories.
- automoviles particulares (private cars)
- camperos aptos para todo terreno (campers fit for all terrain)
- motos, cuatrimotos, motocarros (motorcycles, quad-ATVs, three-wheel vehicles)
- camionetas, hasta 2 toneladas (trucks up to two tons)
- vehículos de trasporte publico (public transport vehicles)
- vehículos de carga (cargo vehicles)
