In a direct communication, the source explained:
Now table 6.4 shows for the year 2017 the statistical discrepancy between the non-financial account (B.9nf) and the financial account (B.9f). For Spain this discrepancy is due to timing differences between transactions in goods and services, distributive transactions or financial transactions and the corresponding payments, and as ESA2010 paragraph 5.244a instructs we were compiling these differences as part of Other accounts payable. However, in order to improve the details of the information provided, since 2017 we provide this information separately and not anymore as part of the column Other accounts payable. For prior years, our intention is to introduce the revision in the next benchmark revision (September 2019).
In response, we have:
- Marked the predecessor (January 2011 to November 2017) as discontinued in its metadata and catalog entry.
- Added the recommended replacement (starts March 2017).
The series reside in the historical catalog (Spain » Government » Government Finance » Central government » Financial operations and debt) and are:
- GVLCNIXUM.IESP = [DISCONTINUED] State Finance: Net incurrence of liabilities excluding other accounts payable, (Mil. EUR, NSA)
- GVLCADJNLBFUM.IESP = State finance: Adjustment - Net lending/borrowing minus net financial transactions, (Ths. EUR, NSA)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
