Data Change: Slovenia - Industrial turnover index - Rebased to 2015
Thursday, 03 May 2018 09:24 ET
By Daniel Luckenbach
Summary
March 2018 -- For the detailed industrial turnover (sales) index for Slovenia, concurrent with dissemination of results for January, the source has advanced the base period from 2010 to 2015 (84 monthly series 1998 to 2017, replaced by 84 from 1998).
Detail

The source wrote (citation):

METHODOLOGICAL NOTE
From 2018 on, the calculation of indices is made on the 2015 base year.

In response, we have updated all mnemonics for new series and predecessors. In addition, we have archived the predecessors (2010=100, January 1998 to December 2017) by renaming with an "_10" specifier, by marking their metadata as "discontinued", and by segregating in the catalog. The replacements (2015=100) begin in January 2005. The classification is NACE Rev. 2, by MIG aggregate (main industrial groupings). There are 18 presentations:

  • Nominal or real, i.e., indexes of value or volume
  • Domestic sales, non-domestic (exports), or total
  • Not seasonally adjusted (NSA), seasonally adjusted (SA), or working day adjusted (WDA)

The active series reside in the historical catalog (Slovenia » Industry » Turnover index » 2015=100) and the predecessors under the associated discontinued node. They include, for example:

  • TNJIG_10AM.ISVN = [DISCONTINUED] Industrial turnover: All markets - Intermediate goods excl. energy [AI], (Vol. Index 2010=100, SA)
  • TNIDMTTUM.ISVN  = Industrial turnover: Domestic market - Total industry [B to C], (Index 2015=100, NSA)
  • TNJKGWM.ISVN    = All markets - Capital goods [B], (Vol. Index 2015=100, WDA)
  • TNJXDIGEAM.ISVN = Non-domestic market - Intermediate goods [A], (Vol. Index 2015=100, SA)

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.

Please be aware that

All series (predecessors and new) are having their mnemonics updated. Accordingly, an excel spreadsheet has been attached that lists the converted series' names.
