Data Change: Netherlands subnational - Income - Methodology
Monday, 27 Mar 2017 14:21 ET
By Rosemary Herrmann
Summary
February 2017 -- The source revised the reporting of gross and disposable income in private households in Netherlands and its subnational areas (26 annual series 2000-2014, replaced by 26 from 2015). Also, the NUTS 1 areas have been terminated (eight annual series 2000-2014, discontinued).
Detail

The source has communicated to us that:

a major revision concerns the upward validation of the economic rent of owner occupiers. The new series are not comparable with the old series (2000-2014).

Also, the number of reported geos has decreased from 17 to 13; the four NUTS level 1 areas have been terminated.

In response, we have archived the predecessors (2000 to 2014) by renaming with an "_14" specifier, by marking their metadata as "discontinued" and by segregating in the catalog. The replacements start at 2015. Figures are thousands of euros (Ths. EUR). Geo coverage is NUTS level 1 and 2 areas.

The series reside in the historical catalog (Netherlands » Income » Household income) and include, for example:

  • LWLTIDSHP_14UA.INLD_NNDL = [DISCONTINUED] Gross income in private households - for NUTS 1 Zuid-Holland
  • LWLTIHPUA.INLD        = Gross income in private households, (Ths. EUR)
  • LWLTIDSHPUA.INLD_ZH   = Disposable income in private households - for NUTS 2 Noord-Nederland

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
