Our estimated time series RXNADJUSTM.IUSA is derived from two verbatim historical series, as follows. It serves to extend the first series, which was terminated by FHFA in 2008.
- NADJUSTCM.IUSA, from the FHFA "Monthly Interest Rate Survey" (through 2008)
- MBAACNW.IUSA, from the MBA "Weekly Mortgage Applications Survey" (after 2008)
The entire MIRS release has been terminated by its source. In response, we have transplanted series RXNADJUSTM.IUSA, and its update program, to the WAS release. Under this new regime, the series may potentially be updated once a week rather than once a month, with downstream consequences if you use the series as a trigger or closely monitor its evolution.
Additionally, its "databank" metadata field has changed from IUSA_FHFA_TERMS.db to IUSA_MBA_WAS.db. Our databank organization is generally immaterial to clients, except when you need to "turn on" an archived databank for such releases as the BEA NIPA.
There is no change to the calculation of RXNADJUSTM.IUSA. It is the driver for forecast series FNADJUST.IUSA, for which there is no change to calculation or update cycle.
