The definition is "de facto" population as of 1 January of the reference year. Geo coverage is the nation and all NUTS 1, 2 and 3 areas. Figures are unitary count of persons (#). These series are new to Data Buffet, but because they represent a prior statistical program, they are already marked as "discontinued."
The series reside in the historical catalog (Greece » Demographics » Population » By sex » Start of year (1 January) de facto estimate) and include, for example:

Please be aware that
The defunct series use the "de facto" definition of population, whereas the active series (from 1982 national, 1991 subnational) use the "usual residents" definition. These are not comparable.
