Mnemonic Change: France subnational - Employment
Thursday, 15 Jun 2017 16:57 ET
By Megan Hilaman
Summary
June 2017 -- For employment by select activity aggregates for subnational France, we have standardized the mnemonics (56 quarterly series impacted).
Detail

If you have a legacy basket or other retrievals, existing references will now return "series not found" errors. You will need to edit the basket to use the amended mnemonics; the basket editor includes a "find and replace" tool.

The series reside in the historical catalog (France » Labor and Wages » Employment » by Industry » Quarterly). We systematically applied the following four rules when renaming the concept codes. The rules apply uniformly to 14 geo codes.

  • LWQEMTE2AQ    » LWQE2TAQ    = Employment - All activities, (Ths. #, SA) for
  • LWQEMIDE2AQ   » LWQE2IDAQ   = Industry, (Ths. #, SA)
  • LWQEMCNE2AQ   » LWQE2CNAQ   = Construction, (Ths. #, SA)
  • LWQEMMMSXE2AQ » LWQE2MMSXAQ = Market goods and services, (Ths. #, SA)

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.

Please be aware that:

  • In concept codes for labor dataset, we use the segments "EM" and "E2" to denote an employment indicator obtained from preferred and secondary datasets, respectively.
  • In our concept codes, the activity (industry, functional sector) follows the indicator segment.
  • This particular dataset is limited to these three broad industry aggregates. Data Buffet carries other employment datasets with individual NAF branches.
  • The geo codes are for NUTS (2016) level 1 areas (see related article), of the form IFRA_^^^^.
