Background: The Italian second-level territorial subdivision of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol (NUTS level 2 area IT31 under NUTS vintages 1995 and 1999) had geo code IITA_TA. Under those vintages it had two NUTS level 3 components, Bolzano-Bozen and Trento, which were promoted to NUTS level 2 areas in NUTS 2003 (ITD1 and ITD2).
For backwards compatibility, ISTAT reported an aggregate of the two areas (i.e., not an area within the NUTS codeset), for which in 2014 we declared the geo code IITA_TB, but failed to link it to Data Buffet's search mechanisms.
Response: We have consolidated the geo codes. That is, we renamed all invisible series using redundant geo code IITA_TB to IITA_TA. Wild card retrievals using IITA_TA will now show additional results.
