Motivation: Our pertinent national source, Statistics Denmark, reports the finances of general government in not seasonally adjusted (NSA) terms. For international consistency, we produce seasonally adjusted supplements to the headline items. Previously, we created our seasonal factors using the X-12 ARIMA seasonal adjustment program, but we are incrementally migrating our datasets to the X-13 ARIMA program, which is newer and usually produces superior results.
Response: We have recalculated our seasonal factors using the X-13-ARIMA program. As a result, all seasonally adjusted series have been revised.
Properties: Properties are unchanged. The series start at 1999Q1. Expect our SA series to be revised with each update.
The series reside in the historical catalog (Denmark » National Accounts » by Institutional Sector » General government » Quarterly) and are:
- NALNZGGBTOTAQ.IDNK = Balance - Overall surplus - Net lending/borrowing, (Mil. DKK, SAAR)
- NALNZGGRREVAQ.IDNK = Current plus capital revenue - Total
- NALNZGGUEXPAQ.IDNK = Current and capital expenditure - Total
- NALNZGGUYPPAQ.IDNK = Real interest; etc [d4]
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Method
- Adjust components using the U.S. Census Bureau's X-13 ARIMA program.
- Compute balance as an identity.
