In response, we have:
- Archived the predecessors (SNA 1993 and reference year 2005, 2001 to 2014) by renaming with an "_S93" specifier, marking metadata as "discontinued", and segregating in the catalog.
- Created replacements (SNA 1998 and reference year 2011) which start at 2006.
Dataset properties:
- Framework: UN SNA 2008
- Classification: JSIC, version unknown
- Measurement: Millions of Japanese yen at current (Mil. JPY) or chained year-2011 (Mil. Ch. 2011 JPY) prices
- Geo coverage: Country, all 7 regions (IJPN_^^^^), all 47 prefectures (IJPN_^^)
- Native frequency: Annual
- Start date: 2006
The series reside in the historical catalog (Japan » National accounts » Prefectural accounts » Compensation by industry) and include, for example:
- NALICMPTOT_S93UA.IJPN = [DISCONTINUED] National accounts: Compensation of employees - Total, (Mil. JPY)
- NALICMPMQR1UA.IJPN = Mining, (Mil. JPY)
- NALICMPMFR1UA.IJPN_HO = Manufacturing, (Mil. JPY) for Hokkaido (prefecture)
And (... » Prefectural accounts » By value add » Reference 2011), for example:
- NACSGVAMMGSR1_S93UA.IJPN_AI = [DISCONTINUED] Prefectural accounts: Gross value added - All private industries, (Mil. Ch. 2005 JPY) - for Aichi (prefecture)
- NAHSGVAWRZ1R1UA.IJPN_CH = Wholesale trade, (Mil. Ch. 2011 JPY) - for Chiba (prefecture)
- NALSGVAAGR1UA.IJPN_HOTO = Agriculture; forestry; fishing, (Mil. JPY) - for Hokkaido and Tohoku (region)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic
Please be aware that
The dataset is organized with a combination of JSIC single branches and custom aggregates, and we do not have the composition of the latter. At this level of detail, JSIC Rev. 12 and Rev. 13 are identical; there are differences from Rev. 11, but they are obscured by the aggregates. JSIC Rev. 13 is a re-aggregation of UN ISIC Rev. 4 at the four-digit level.
The set of reported industries has changed slightly from the prior vintage.
Some portions of the Cabinet Office statistical website are bilingual, but the prefectural accounts are exclusively in Japanese. When identifying documents, Google Translate is inconsistent with Japanese era years; for example, in the "About" document below, the timestamp (Heisei 30) refers to 2018, but is translated to 2010.
