Motivation: In May, Statistics Finland modified the house price index for NUTS 3 areas in several ways: advanced the base year from 2010 to 2015, updated the statistical model, and updated weights (see related article). 

Response: For our quarterly estimates of average areal house prices and house price index for Finland and its NUTS 1-, 2- and 3-analogous subnational areas, we have synchronized to match the source.

What you will see: All periods revised, starting at 1975Q1 and 1988Q1 at the national and subnational geo levels, respectively. Properties are otherwise unchanged (see related article).

The estimates reside in the historical catalog (Finland » Real Estate » Residential » House price | House price index » Active) and include, for example:

• RHPL$Q.IFIN_HU  = Average house price, (2010 EUR per m², SA) - for NUTS 2 Helsinki-Uusimaa
• RHPLQ.IFIN      = Average house price, (EUR per m², SA) - for Finland 
• RHPI$Q.IFIN_EKJ = House price index, (Vol. Index 2010=100, SA) - for NUTS 3 Etel-Karjala
• RHPIQ.IFIN_AMSU = House price index, (Index 2010=100, SA) - for NUTS 1 Mainland Finland
