Motivation: Our national source for Tanzania, the National Bureau of Statistics, reports the expenditure approach components of gross domestic product, but with limited history (from 2012) and only at an annual frequency.
Response: For international consistency, we have estimated GDP by expenditure with extended history and at a quarterly frequency. Our standard set includes current and constant prices and deflators.
Properties:
- Measurements: Millions of Tanzanian shillings at current prices (Mil. TZS) or constant year-2015 prices (Mil. 2015 TZS), or deflators indexed to 2015
- Adjustment: Seasonally adjusted (SA) or seasonally adjusted annualized rate (SAAR)
- Geo coverage: Country
- Native frequency: Quarterly
- Start date: 1970Q1
Our estimates reside in the historical catalog (Tanzania (United Republic of) » National Accounts » By expenditure » Moody's Analytics Estimated) and include, for example:
- RNALEGDPAQ.ITZA = National Accounts: Gross domestic product, (Mil. TZS, SAAR)
- RNACEGCFAQ.ITZA = Gross capital formation, (Mil. 2015 TZS, SAAR)
- RPDIIMAQ.ITZA = Implicit price deflator - Imports, (Index 2015=100, SA)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Method: Please refer to the background documentation in Mnemonic 411.
