Data Change: Russia subnational - Population by sex and age - Geo
Thursday, 19 Sep 2019 03:19 ET
By Victoria Donu
Summary
September 2019 -- For population by sex and five-year age bracket in Russia, two geos (Siberian federal district and Far Eastern federal district) have been redefined (130 annual series 1990 to 2018, replaced by 130 from 2019).
Detail

The Republic of Buryatia and the Transbaikal region have been transferred from the Siberian federal district to the Far Eastern federal district. In response, we have declared two new geo codes.

  • IRUS_SIBE » IRUS_SBRI = Siberian Federal District
  • IRUS_FEAS » IRUS_FARE = Far Eastern Federal District

This impacts the subnational population dataset. In response, we have:

  1. Terminated 130 series (1990 to 2018)
  2. Created one-for-one replacements, which start at 2019.

The measurement point is year-start, the 31 age brackets range from zero years to 100-plus years, and figures are unitary count of persons (#). Geo coverage is now 105 subnational areas.

The series reside in the historical catalog (Russia » Demographics » Population » by Sex and age) and include, for example:

  • VSQPOPF8084UA.IRUS_SIBE = [DISCONTINUED] Population - Females - Ages 80 to 84, (#) - for Siberia federal district
  • VSQPOPF6064UA.IRUS_FEAS = [DISCONTINUED] Females - Ages 60 to 64, (#) - for Far Eastern federal district
  • VSQPOPF6064UA.IRUS_SBRI = Population - Females - Ages 60 to 64, (#) - for Siberian Federal Okrug [2019]
  • VSQPOPFTUA.IRUS_FARE    = Females - All ages, (#) - for Far Eastern Federal Okrug [2019]

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
