In the Statistics Norway data portal, the turnover statistics table can include geographic areas that have been terminated as part of the country's ongoing geographic reorganization. Such areas are marked with the last valid year for the area, and are then reported as "0". We have detected that the source revises these discontinued areas.
For example, the source explains (citation » footnotes):
NACE 47 is corrected for the country and county Sør-Trøndelag in the 3rd period 2017 (7 November 2017).
NACE 47 is corrected for the country and county Akershus and Nordland in the 4th period 2017 (20 February 2018).
In response, we have:
- Kept these series as discontinued, to match the source.
- Synchronized our series to match the source, including "0" values for periods in which the areas were terminated.
The series reside in the historical catalog (Norway » Consumer » Wholesale and retail turnover » Bimonthly divisions, SIC 2007, 45 to 47 | Quarterly) and include, for example:
- TNL45UM.INOR_NTR = [DISCONTINUED] Turnover: Wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles [45], (Mil. NOK, NSA) - for 16 North Trøndelag
