The WEO has terminated these three reporting aggregates:
- ICISM = Commonwealth of Independent States (12 countries)
- IMENA = Middle East and North Africa (21 countries)
- IMENA_AP = Middle East, North Africa, Afghanistan, and Pakistan (23 countries)
This aggregate has been redefined from 12 to 16 countries:
- IEDEU = Emerging and Developing Europe
This aggregate has been created from IMENA_AP and part of ICIS:
- IMECA = Middle East and Central Asia (31 countries)
Four CIS countries (Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine) have been added to "Emerging and Developing Europe". We have archived series using the prior 12-country definition by renaming the series with an "_G19" specifier and marking their metadata as discontinued.
The remaining eight countries of the CIS region (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) have been combined with the 23 countries of IMENA_AP region to define the new 31-country region IMECA.
Date ranges for the impacted series vary widely, with start dates as early as 1980 and end dates as late as 2024.
The series reside in the historical catalog:
- Cross-country Datasets » International Monetary Fund (IMF) » World Economic Outlook (WEO)
- The "Sources: Multi-national" folder within each specific country catalog
