Motivation: The Planning Board of Puerto Rico reports gross domestic product (GDP) and gross national product (GNP) for Puerto Rico, but (a) at an annual frequency, and (b) not for metropolitan areas.
Response: To facilitate consistent time series analysis, Moody's Analytics produces estimates. To the above reporting, we have enhanced frequency and geographic granularity, and re-referenced the constant-price series from 1954 to 2009.
Properties:
- Measurement: Millions of current U.S. dollars (Mil. USD) or constant year-2009 dollars (Mil. 2009 USA)
- Adjustment: Seasonally adjusted at an annualized rate (SAAR)
- Geo coverage: Puerto Rico and all seven metropolitan areas thereof
- Frequencies: Quarterly and annual
- Start date: 1978Q1
The estimates reside in the historical catalog (United States » National Accounts » Gross Domestic Product - US Territories » Puerto Rico » Quarterly » Gross Product » Moody's Analytics Estimated) and include, for example:
- RGDP$Q.IPRI = Gross Domestic Product: Total, (Mil. 2009 USD, SAAR) - for Puerto Rico
- RGNPQ.IUSA_MARE = Gross National Product: Total, (Mil. USD, SAAR) - for metropolitan area Arecibo
- RGDPA.IUSA_MSJN = Gross Domestic Product: Total (Mil. USD) - for metropolitan area San Juan-Carolina-Caguas
