Data Change: Russia - Employment by industry - Reclassified
Tuesday, 30 Oct 2018 04:38 ET
By Victoria Donu
Summary
October 2018 -- For employment by industry for Russia, the source has advanced the industry classification from OKVED to OKVED 2 (16 annual series 1998 to 2016, replaced by 20 from 2017).
Detail

In response, we have:

  1. Archived the predecessors (OKVED, 1998 to 2016) by renaming with an "_I3" specifier, marking metadata as "discontinued", and segregating in the catalog.
  2. Created replacements (OKVED 2) which start at 2017.
  3. Calculated A3 aggregates (2).
  4. Assigned standardized mnemonics to the replacements.

Active reported dataset properties:

  • Industry classification: OKVED 2
  • Measurement: Thousands of persons (Ths. #)
  • Native frequency: Annual
  • Start date: 2017

Activity classifications OKVED and OKVED 2 are adaptations of UN ISIC Rev. 3.1 and Rev. 4, respectively.

The series reside in the historical catalog (Russia » Labor and Wages » Employment by industry » Workplace based employment » Annual) and include, for example:

  • LWQEMT_I3UA.IRUS = [DISCONTINUED] Total employment, (Ths. #)
  • LWQEMEGUA.IRUS   = Electricity; gas; water supply and air conditioning
  • LWQEMREUA.IRUS   = Real estate activities

Computed by Moody's Analytics:

  • LWQEMIDUA.IRUS = Industrial A3 sector
  • LWQEMSVUA.IRUS = Services A3 sector

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
