What is the scenario?
Moody's Analytics has generated two new scenarios for our U.S. macro forecast, based on the assumptions outlined in the November 22, 2011 press release from the Federal Reserve. They contain the full complement of variables found in this forecast product. These are special scenarios and will not be updated with subsequent vintages.
How can I retrieve these special scenarios?
Series mnemonics in the baseline special scenario look like F?_FEDBASE.US, while series mnemonics in the supervisory stress scenario look like F?_FEDSS.US.
How can I retrieve scenarios in general?
When using Data Buffet, you can pick a scenario through the Geography Wizard in the forecast catalog. The dialog box shows a "Forecast Scenarios" panel with checkboxes, beneath the list of available geographies. Each option is marked with its vintage date. (This panel does not appear in the historical catalog.)
Our standard scenarios are the current, baseline and alternatives. When manually assembling a basket, they are differentiated by a suffix on the concept code: No suffix, _B and _S(number), respectively; e.g., FET.US, FET_B.US and FET_S1.US.
You can configure your basket output to include optional, supplemental metadata fields. There is no field for forecast vintage, but you can display the "updated" and "last historical value" dates.
